RETREAT REPORT

32 lovely ladies travelled all the way to Cave Hill Creek for our first annual retreat!

From all accounts a fabulous weekend was had by all. We would like to say a big thank you to all of the wonderful ladies for helping to make the weekend such a success.

Also thank you to Mel Nunn for her wonderful recipe tin class and Megan Huntly for her relaxing massages.

Saturday Night PJ Party was an absolute hoot with some X-rated photos being held in safe keeping til a later date! Stay tuned.

 

OCTOBER CLASSES

Excitement is mounting at The Imagination Factory as our first annual retreat draws near. If you haven't returned your pink form as yet (with final payment), could you please do so ASAP so that we can let catering staff know of any food needs in advance.

If you would like to take part in Mel's recipe tin class,or indulge in a massage with Megan on Saturday, then could you also please phone or email the store ASAP so that we can finalize numbers and have enough kits available on the day.

With only 8 sleeps to go, we have a special offer for the retreat ladies. On Thursday 16th October, Fiona will be available in the store from 12noon until 8pm to assist you with color matching & product selection. Feel free to bring in your photographs along with any patterned paper or other product that you already may have, and fiona will help you to match cardstock & any other embellishments you may require for your retreat projects.

Who can believe it's August already? Just where has the year gone? There is so much news to tell, I just don't quite know where to start. Here goes......

Classes

We have almost finalized the next class calendar for September to February, and hopefully we will be able to post it on the blog in "calendar" format so that it is easier to read at a glance.

We have also made some changes to the remainder of August's classes outlined below. Limited spaces are still available for each class so phone the store (5331 6108) or pop in to book your spot.

Challenge Pack

The first Imagination Factory challenge pack was hugely popular, with lots of ladies loving the fact that everything was color- co-ordinated and ready to go. Some scrappers purchased the kit just to use at home ( which is fine) and 5 ladies returned their finished work for display. Retreat

The shop is abuzz with excitement about our first ever Imagination Factory Retreat on the weekend of the 17th to 19th October. Details are available in store, and in the previous blog post for those interested in attending. We have two very exciting announcements regarding the retreat.

1. Special guest teacher Mel Nunn will be teaching a class. Mel is hugely talented local Ballarat scrapper, who is a current Scrapbook Memories Master and a member of several design teams. The class is a Recipe Tin with index cards inserts, using the yet to be released Basic Grey Offbeat papers. More details to follow.
2. If you're in need of some pampering Megan will be taking bookings for massages at a cost of $30 per half hour. Reserve your spot in store. Be quick!

New Stock

New stock, direct from the latest CHA show in America has been pre-ordered and should start arriving soon. We'll keep you posted.

~Retreat~

We are excited to finally be able to announce the details of our inaugural Imagination Factory Annual Retreat.

It will be held at Cave Hill Creek, a short drive from Beaufort, in an idyllic bush setting.

The dates are Friday afternoon/evening the 17^th of October to Sunday afternoon the 19^th of October, 2008.

The cost for the weekend is $150 per person. Which includes accommodation, meals (excluding Friday afternoon/evening), and outdoor activies.

Just bring along your scrapbooking, quilting, embroidery or any craft supplies & be prepared for a weekend of fun & friendship. Ian & Julie from C.H. host Scrapbooking weekends for other groups frequently & are well request in what crafters request.

In cases of extreme weather, you can thaw out in front of the roaring log fire, or take a dip in the adjoining lake to cool down. The overhead lighting is great, & the natural light is even better.

So Mark it in your diary, and if you would like to attend, you need to fill out this form:Download IMG.pdf  & either mail it or bring it to The Imagination Factory with $50 non- refundable deposit to secure your spot.

Unfortunately, numbers are limited, so we will be accepting bookings in order of deposit received. (Phone payment of deposit may also be made by credit card) Balance of deposit may be paid off; full details will be distributed to customers after booking in. Hope to see you there!

*School Holidays*

School holidays are finally here and what a long term it has been.  Our children's classes are already fully booked (sorry to those who missed out) - we will hopefully schedule 2 classes per week next holidays.

We raised $633 at our resent Melissa Frances/bumble bee workshop day and were very happy to be able to donate this whole amount to Dragons Abreast. The ladies were so grateful that 10 members attended the store to accept our cheque & present us with a lovely certificate of appreciation.  Hopefully some photos will be published in the Courier soon.

As usual  we have lots of new stock arriving, including Prima paper, flowers & embellishments, and the new nifty paint dabbers from ranger and not forgetting the beautiful range of bloom from KI Memories.

If you're interested in the calendar layout, then a bit of preparation is needed ahead of time.  we ask that you take your camera with you everyday for the month of July and try to take at least 1 picture per day. most of these images are then heavily cropped & used in a single layout -good luck!

Thank-you to the on-the-ball customers who kindly pointed out that our blog link in the latest newsletter  was spelt incorrectly, hence didn't work! I guess thats what happens when you try to post VERY late at night when you really should be tucked up in your nice warm bed sleeping !(big sigh). Introducing our

BEGINNERS COURSE

As advertised in last fridays edition of the Courier in the "Learn something new this winter" lift out.

We will be running two beginners classes throughout winter for those of you new to scrapbooking, cardmaking and papercrafting. The two courses will be identical, one during the day and one at night.

They will commence on:   Monday 14th July from 7-9pm  and Wednesday 16th July from 10am - 12pm.

There will be six weekly sessions of two hours duration and the total course cost will be $120, payable prior to commencement.

Topics covered will include, basic theory, page layout, cardmaking, tag making and off the page.

Call into the shop for further details.

MORE CLASSES

Our classes continue to amaze & delight us with their popularity.

Unfortunately, the collections village class had to be postponed for medical reasons, so we have rescheduled it for this coming Saturday the 24th of May from 2pm to 4pm. The houses in the village look fab , and you can check them out either on our last post or instore.
Also this weekend there is one spot left in the photoshop class with Fiona from 11 to 4 on Saturday, and Julies card class on Sat from 11 to 1 is fully booked.
And don't forget the crop on Fri night! 6 hours of uninterrupted scrapping, with a free make and take and lucky door prize.

The gorgeous COLLECTIONS VILLAGE class, taught by the lovely Jenny Crossley is fast approaching. With only 5 sleeps to go, the final details are here.

We have some special retreat news!!!
This years retreat dates are Fri 17th October to Sun 19th October. We have hired a fabulous venue which is only 40 min from Ballarat, & perfectly equipped to host up to 45 scrappers and their respective "stuff" and still have room to spare. So , pencil in the date and more details will follow soon.
